Yes fresh cherries were very sweet and delicious, but the dried cherries are

indeed awfully sour. Sometimes I eat a few blueberries or other fruit with them.

For me, cherries are a miracle!

How do you stand the bitterness? Of course comparing the bitter taste of

cherries to the pain is a no-brainer! The pain is worse!

Thanks for the info. There is a natural treatment to every ailment we have but

it is always so expensive when you are low income. I have been living two years

on just my hubby's SSDI and now that I've got mine I don't know what to do.

Maybe I'll add some cherries and see. I have pain in the same exact area with

almost the same exact problem, except mine is L4 and L5 and then in my neck it

is whatever the numbers are that curve from your lower neck into the back of

your shoulders. A chiropractor worked on me for a while but I just couldn't

take it and he told me about my neck being locked up in the spine.

arthritis pain, but hadn't made a steady a diet of them before.

My pain is mainly in my low back and legs to into my feet. I have

degenerative disk disease but then in 1997, I fell hard on my low back & hip on

one

side on concrete.

From that, I developed RSD - Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy. I was

mis-diagnosed at first because RSD doesn't most commonly start in the low back

but

usually in a limb.

So, after 2 months of tests and therapies, I had spinal fusion surgery at

L5 S1. Since it wasn't the disk but the RSD, and RSD can spread with

surgeries, other injuries, etc.. It caused the RSD to spread into my legs,

then knees, and then ankles and feet!!

Not sure if the cherries would help in that kind of situation but its sure

worth a TRY!!! and the article I read said cherry juice was just as good

and I LOVE that!!!

This is an interesting discussion!!!

My mother in law swears by this. She has been eating nine cherries every

morning for about 12 years now. I think she read about it in Prevention

magazine. My husband and I get a kick out of her because she won't eat 8 or 10,

it has to be nine. She is very fortunate, she has a friend with cherry trees so

she helps pick them and cans enough to last all year.
