I volunteer a few hours a week recording books for the blind.

I love recording. The people who work at the studio and those involved are very

interesting, they have all read so many books of so many kinds there is always

something fun and cool to talk about.

When volunteering, you sit in a sound booth, and you just record the books. I

favor (of course) medical textbooks and psychology. I also read education

books, philosophy, management, and more. I stick to reading textbooks which are

usually at university level in the subjects that I read.

However, they also have fiction books for recording as well.

This is also something that they will allow you to do from home on your

computer, once you're up to speed on how the software works, and they know you

know what you're doing.
