Guest guest
Will had x-rays at 5 weeks, 20 weeks and again at 22 weeks. I'm starting to get a little paranoid about the exposure. They were all warranted except for some in the 2nd set which prompted the third. Should I be concerned because he's so young??? I'm not looking to be paranoid but at the same time I'm wanting to be prepared for any problems he may have in the future. The good news is that his skull is fine so he doe NOT have craniosynostosis, which we had figured. His c-spine is alright, too, so the PT can up her agression on the therapy since we are just about to run out of PT sessions with our insurance. We have an evaluation with Early Intervention in two weeks but I don't know if Will has made too much progress to warrant acceptance by the program (he has to have 33% disability) but I know he still needs therapy. Also, we ARE getting the 2nd band but don't know when. He outgrew his first last Monday after 5 short weeks-I was going to go straight ahead with the 2nd but now I'm wondering if we should wait until the tort is more resolved. He's 5 months old now. Any advice greatly appreciated! leigh Will 4/11/
Guest guest
Leigh, I'm glad the xrays have shown no cranio. I don't think 3 xrays is dangerous exposure. I'm sure it's not desired but it sounds like it was necessary. That is great news that he is making good progress with PT. I'm not sure what Early intervention guidelines are but it would kind of good news if he were too advanced. However, I do understand that it would be great for him to get the extra help. My own opinion on the second band would be to go ahead with it. na was out of her first very quickly (29 days). We went ahead and had her banded again 2 weeks later. That one she wore for a little over 2 months. By then she was 8 1/2 months old and very mobile. We were able to capture the good growth spurts. She still had tort when she graduated but we had her in PT. She is 15 months now, tort free and we haven't seen any regression. mom to na DOC Grad 2/04leighmommy <leighstulack@...> wrote: Will had x-rays at 5 weeks, 20 weeks and again at 22 weeks.
