I just joined this group a little while ago. I joined it to see if anyone who is

in severe chronic pain have a close to normal life. I want to be able to do some

of the things I use to do like going camping, shopping, going to parties or

weddings.

I want to know what has worked for others and who else feels the same way as I

do.

I have also taken myself off a few of my medications for my great

grandmother's herbal recipes. So far they seem to work

We need to learn from each other and help each other when the pain gets to be

too much.

Gentle hugs,

Wayne and others,

And most of all, I thought this included people like you, who have very extreme

pain issues, people with fairly good pain control who may be holding down full

times jobs and everyone in between. If this is not the case, please let me know

and I will no longer participate in this group.

I thought the purpose of this group was as stated to:

A support resource for adults with chronic or acute physical pain problems.

Emphasis is placed on helping to cope and " have a life. "

I thought this was a group where discussions might be held on topics other

than just symptoms, treatments and isolation. I thought this was a group

that would be able to do more than whine about what we cannot do. I thought

this might be a place to help with grieving, improve communications with

spouses and friends, and to foster new hope about how to go on living when

your life is hell and when it is only half way to hell. Or how to do things

that are hard now that were so easy before one did not think about, like

shopping, paying bills or playing with the dog. I thought this might be a

safe place to talk about minor victories, intimacy and maybe even sex. Is

there anyone here with a happy active sex life? I'd really like to know how

you are doing that when you have chronic pain.  Or maybe this group is not a

safe place to discuss those things.

Hi

You are correct about the purpose stated of the group, but we also wander

into various subjects.

Please feel free to jump in with any of these subjects, especially the ones you

mentioned. We haven't talked about many of these in a long time.

I hope you will bring up these subjects asap.

All,

The members of this group are in all progress of pain management. Some still

hold full time jobs, some of us are now disabled and try to have a normal life

doing what our pain allows, contributing in other ways, trying to keep living

with our pain and having a purpose.

The members here share their experiences and we support one another. I don't

think there is a gauge of having to leave if your pain is not under control or

under control.

It is a place to come and vent if you need to without fear of judgement.

The group offers support, and I have found it here and it has been a lifesaver

for me to have someone to talk to, just to be able to share and have someone

understand, and

this is something that helps me immensely. Bennie

I have found that this group is very helpful to me. I have been in extreme pain

for most of my life. I worked for many years in pain until it got to the point

where I couldn't walk cause I popped my hip joints out of their sockets. After

that the pain in my body went from bearable to extreme screaming pain.

When I found this group I thought no one really understood what my day to day

life in pain was like. This group is the best thing because there are others who

have my conditions and really know what I am going through.

Gentle hugs,

Ms.Katurah

We all need to vent. LOL But on good days I do have a great sex life and have

had for years even with the pain.

If you have a partner who is understanding and gives great massages the sex can

be incredible! It is funny how massage can help aleviate the pain enough to

actually have a happy ending!

I don't always get to finish but make sure my partner does sometimes the

intimacy is enough for me. It always feels great and sometimes my partner feels

bad if I don't finish with him. It is hard sometimes to relax enough when you

are in pain for that to happen.

Massage had helped me to be able to start painting again and walking on the

beach. I hope to have enough paintings done by next year for a show.

That is a major accomplishment for me! I haven't had a show in over 20 years.

May you all have peaceful nights. Gentle hugs to all!
