Hi everyone - As a new-comer to this group, I am amazed at the

responses I got to my posts yesterday. Thank you all for adding

info and pointing the way to some helpful articles. I have to say,

so much of what I am reading in the messages makes me think my

husband is much better off than many of you, at this point. I have

no sense of how quickly things can change with PSC. I was told it

is a very slowly escalating disease. The value of the ERCP to my

husband would be to find out what stage he is at, according to his

doctor - who has not pushed for it to be done. I suppose this is

because he has been doing fine - no pain, itching, or any of the

symptoms, really, that you all describe - and the ERCP is an

invasive diagnostic test. He has had many ultrasounds and an MRI.

The URSO FORTE the doctor gave my husband (several boxes of samples)

are the 500 mg pills. He was told to take two/day and given

prescriptions covering four months. His next appointment with the

doctor is for six months from now. From what I'm reading from

several of you, diarrhea seems to be a common reaction to URSO.

Doesn't that create a vicious cycle with UC, if you also have that

condition?

I am also interested in the progression of PSC. I see that some of

you were not aware you had the disease until you went for a regular

physical - as was the case with my husband - and had wacky blood

test results. Have you had a progression of symptoms?

I truly appreciate the concern and effort on everyone's part to help

us. It's a little overwhelming to see all the posted messages and

try to make sense of it all, but it is great to know there are

people who understand and are willing to share their experiences.
