Hi Jane,

Do you think it may just be a symptom of Hashimoto's? Ever since my

TSH shot up last Year and i finally got diagnosed with hypothyroidism,

my face just made a nose-dive. I had very clear skin (always got

compliments) to looking like a teenager. I have managed to eliminate

most on my face; however, my forehead is a mess and these pimples seem

to really crop up around the hairline (all the way around my head to

the back of my neck, and even some on the scalp (like top of the

head). It's driving me nuts. I don't feel attractive anymore, and I

certainly don't feel like being intimate with my husband for a number

of reasons. I tell you, this disease really sucks the big kahuna for

sure. One thing I have been lucky with with this disease is that I

have had a huge loss of appetite, so I didn't have the weight problems

that many are currently battling and I certainly feel for them. I do

gain weight easily, but it seems that when I start to gain a few

pounds, then I loose my appetite and I stablize. ANyway, just wanted

you to know that you are not alone with this annoying problem. All I

can hope for is that the Armour will take over in time for both of us :).

Hi Jane,

Just ask the doc to test for anti-tpo antibodies and there is another

one, but I have forgotten the name of it (the first one is most

important in detecting the presence of Hashimoto's). Have you not been

diagnosed with thyroid disease or dysfunction as of yet? Sorry if I am

repeating what you may have already posted. I just can't keep up with

all the posts lol. It's really important to get the antibodies test if

your other thyroid labs are showing to be normal. It is very possible

to have normal labs (according to most doctors that are conventional)

and be hypothyroid. I was for over 15 years and it only got really bad

(undoubtedly intolerable) after my second baby. I had just about every

typical symptom of hypothyroidsim, yet my TSH was 6.63 and all other

labs were " normal " . I am back in Canada, and their TSH range is .4 -

6, so I would have been just out of range and I probably would have

been monitored instead of treated. I am currently on 1 1/2 grains of

Armour and I am still in the process of increasing and getting to my

optimal dose. My antibodies proved to be well over 1000 (normal is

below 25).` Good luck on your labs :).
