Guest guest
Hello , I have a goitre with no nodules or cysts. I am not yet on Armour since i had an adrenal crash so i'm on DSF formula and 50 mcg thyroxine Yesterday and today my neck feels like it is inflated like a kids paddling pool and it is hot to the touch in the goitre area which seems considerably bigger . It felt like my thyroid was going to burst out of my throat yesterday but its not as bad today though my whole neck is stiff and i have much less movement in my neck-which was restricted by my goitre anyway. has this happened to anyone else? Any clues as to why it has happended and is it linked to drops or increases in TSH /fT4 etc? I'm not supposed to have Hashi's though i suspect i did have hashi's previously and my thyroid had burned out as i've had so many previous episodes . -- Best regards, Alison http://www.alisonashwell.com mailto:alison.ashwell@... new work uploaded http://www.artwanted.com/alisonashwell http://www.voodoochilli.net/artists/alisonashwell/

Guest guest
Hi, By any chance did they also pull blood for the anti bodies tests? If anything will show in these tests, it is that you are on a Hashi's swing of some sort...probably hypo. I would think that the heat and swelling are indications of the Thyroid being ill (being attacked by the immune system). I'm not sure if this is a fair faxsimaly(sp?), however I seem to want to compare it to an internal infection, where a whole lot of white cells surround an infection there is usually swelling, as well as heat. Although I never had a goiter, my original endo told me to come a running if my thyroid ever became swollen.. Of course I was in a deep fog at the time and I don't remember how the gland was at the time, but I don't remember heat coming from the gland... I'm sorry that I can't help you any more than that. No antibody tests done this time since both previous times they have been under 20 and there was no reaction in antibody level with previous 'hot thyroid' -though i couldn't have predicted that it would happen. It feels like i have had a surge in thyroid hormone which is why i wondered about effect on blood tests -- Best regards, Alison http://www.alisonashwell.com mailto:alison.ashwell@... new work uploaded http://www.artwanted.com/alisonashwell http://www.voodoochilli.net/artists/alisonashwell/
