Guest guest
Hello everyone, Well we are now finally getting somewhere with this whole banding thing. We met with Steve today, an ortho that handles the STARband. He was absolutly WONDERFUL, and very knowledgable. After meeting with him we made our final decision to try the STARband, so we went ahead and had Cole scanned today. Two weeks (or less) from now he will finally be banded. The scanning was so nice and easy, and it only took like 2 seconds. Cole was not phased by it one bit. I hope that we are happy with our decision in the long run. I was so set on the DOC band that I hope I don't regret changing my mind. I am however very confident that we have chosen a super ortho, so things should go well. Now I am just keeping my fingers crossed that Cole does not have a major growth spurt in the next 2 weeks. Thanks for all the advice and help with our tough decision on which band to choose. I would have been lost without all the help and support. You guys are the best!!! , mommy to Cole (finally scanned)and Eden Lake Placid, FL. Guest guest
That is great . I'll keep a close eye on Cole's progress. Wasn't the scanner great? Today I was just reading all of the replies to my first post here and I just re-read yours to me. You were very sweet. The hard part is now over. I know he will be comfortable in it and you will be so pleasantly surprised. Colin's STARband is a little loose but I have been reassured (over & over & over) by his ortho. that it is doing what it is supposed to be doing. His skin is never pink or red and the sweating only lasted a day or 2. I would like to get more scans done ~ every 4-6 wks. They are not included in the $2800 we paid. Do you get any more scans during treatment or just at the end? I'm going to ask again if they can " throw a couple more in " . LOL We waited 2 wks as well and did not have any trouble with the fitting. They are nice bands. We have also not encountered any rude people. I'm sure that the time will fly by. Take care! Guest guest
Hi . My son Dylan has been in his Starband for almost 4 months. We've had success with it so far. He's 14 months now so growth has been slow due to his age. We've probably got 2 months to go. I don't know much about the DOCbands but can at least tell you that we've been happy with the Starband and it has done everything that it has needed to do. We see growth in all of the right areas and Dylan has never been uncomforable with it - he barely knows it's there. Good luck to you and Cole and keep us posted! Dylan's pics are under Dylan F. There's one of him in the helmet. Beth Mom to Dylan (Starbanded on 3/19/04) > Hello everyone, > Well we are now finally getting somewhere with this whole banding > thing.
