Guest guest
I took Cymbalta for Fibromyalgia. It did not help me with the pain. It made me depressed all of the time, I kept falling and then the last fall down the stairs caused me to have surgery on right shoulder last year. I couldn't sleep, and if I did sleep, it was for an hour or so. I had trouble focusing. After the last fall, I weaned myself off of it. When my next doctor appointment came I told him and we was glad that I had taken myself off it. Now, just because that all happened to me, doesn't mean it will happen to someone else. Some people it works well for and others it doesn't. *Suzi* wrote Before I try it, I want to hear others experience, both positive and negative. Guest guest
Cymbalta was great for my depression but I can not say it was helpful for my pain. Now it is being prescribed for pain as well. Like all medications, some people get the benefit intended and some don't. I've read where it's hard to get off of, I'm on my way, down to 30mg from 60mg. That was no problem. Oh, and the only problem I had starting it was stomach upset for the first two weeks. I found taking it in the morning with breakfast was the best for me. Guest guest
I used it for about a week before having break out of mouth sores and swelling. Just my experience. Guest guest
Hi , I tried Cymbalta with less than positive results. Granted, I only tried it for 5 days before the nausea, dizziness and migraines caused me to stop. It could have been the combination of medications I take for RSD pain which exacerbated the side effects. I take Percocet and Gabapentin for pain. I know many people who have reported that Cymbalta is great and helps them a lot. Please keep in mind that everyone is different. My PCP wanted me to try it for depression because of the chronic pain with my RSD. What about Savella? I've heard that works well for many fibromylgia patients plus I've heard that there's not any weight gain associated with it whereas Cymbalta can definitely cause weight gain. Good luck to you!! ~Carol I am thinking of trying Cymbalta Before I try it, I want to hear others experience, both positive and negative. Guest guest
I was taking Savella. I had headache after headache, no sleep because of headaches. I had a lot of hot flushes and major sweating. I wasn't bothered by the sweating. Then I couldn't focus at all. I knew I had thing to do but just couldn't remember what they were. I realized one of the things when I went to write checks for bills. I found only 2 checks left! Of course I had to pay the beater tax on that. I had to pay $20 extra to expedite them in 4 days rather than the 2 weeks with regular mail. My ankles swelled so bad and my knees and hands. Savella didn't help with the pain. I have read that people are doing well with it and I'm so glad it does. If you try it, I hope it works for you. *Suzi* Carol wrote: What about Savella? Guest guest
Thank you for all the responses to this thread. I do not have the energy to reply to each of you, but I sure appreciate the responses. I am not sure I want to try it now. It's amazing how we all react differently to medication. I have wonderful results with Neurontin for nerve pain ONLY. I am looking at trying S-adenoslymethionine(SAM-e) Chronic pain causes the depression. It's not the other way around. I wish the medical community understood that! .
