Guest guest
Cristy, Calorie consumption is not the end all that be all in weight loss as you have learned the hard way. Neither is doing a ton of any one thing as far as exercise goes. What you say? There are other things to consider. Are you eating breakfast? How many times a day do you eat? Skipping breakfast and not eating enough times a day will lower your metabolism. Do you drink enough water? How much do you weigh? A good gage to go by is take your goal weight, times it by 10 and that is a base line of how many cals a day. If you are very active, sounds like you are, then eat more. I don't know much about those tapes, do they have resistance in them? Have you ever tried interval training? That consists of alternating speed say on a treadmill from slow to fast or alternating cardio and weights. Here are some basic things I have learned that might help answer your question- Always eat breakfast Eat several times a day Drink moderate amounts of water- at least 64 oz a day, more if you are trying to lose weight and more yet when you exercise. Get at least 1200 calories a day, more if you are working out More than anything, be patient. Weight loss takes time. Half to 2 lbs a week is all you should lose. To lose weight and keep it off it has to be a lifestyle. Don't be too focused on the number on the scale. It does not always tell the whole story. Be sure to measure. Lastly, if you really are doing the right things and still not losing, I know you don't want to hear this but go to a reputable doctor and get some blood work done. Get your thyroid and stuff checked. Gena
