I was on Neurontin for years in staggeringly high doses (4800 mg) daily,

finally, it happened, stopped working for me. Doc tried Lyrica, didn't work. I'm

now on Savella, Hydrocodone, Soma, and Atarax (hydroxyzine). This combination

seems to work to a degree. I am sleeping a bit better, but the pain never really

goes away. I go to sleep in pain and wake the same way.

It is so discouraging to try to explain chronic pain to someone who thinks that

pain is a headache or something like a muscle sprain. I don't mean to sound

bitter and grouchy, but it is is so frustrating. I'm sure some of you know what

I mean.

My last A1C (glucose) was 7.7 and it sucks because I follow my diet strictly,

just the old pancreas seems to be in revolt.

I also can identify with those of you that have problems with clothes, sheets,

etc. touching skin that screams when touched by cloth.

I wish to each of you a wonderful day, a pain free day and nights of restful

sleep. I'm there with you in the suffering and wish I could do something to ease

the pain of each.

I had the same experience with neurotin Diane. I stopped it for a few months

and then restarted it again. That helped.

Do you take insulin? I am on an insulin pump. It has really helped me keep

better control. You have much more flexibility also.
