Guest guest
Hello! I am , mother to two hearing impaired girls: , age 9, bilateral loss since birth, Moderate to Moderate/Severe, aided with standard analog aids, attending regular private school (private school has small classes!), completely oral although she can do some simple signing, doing amazingly well. , age 5, also bilateral since birth, Moderate to Moderate/Severe, aided with brand new (purple!) Phonak Claro digital hearing aids. attending regular (private) school, in daily speech therapy since before age two. Doing fairly well but struggling some which is why we just went to digitals with her. We are seeing improvements already and she's had the new aids for just two weeks. She is also oral with the ability to do simple signing. Both girls have shown no progression of loss thank God, although I do sweat it out each time their hearing is tested. And now I do have one question, my older daughter is asking for her own alarm clock. I have a website for HARC Mercantile but that is the only source I have. I think we would prefer a shaker/vibrator. Does anyone have experience they would share and possibly recommend a brand or model? Do you have any other sources for such items? Thanks. Of course, what she *really* wants is a dog but I told her she has to be much older - like about 25 and living away from home! lol!!! Thanks very much!
