Guest guest
Connie, Thanks for the links. I've sent them on to my docs. Are you using antibiotic therapy? Are people reluctant to push it because their doctors think it's hogwash? Guest guest
Hi Bill :-) You're welcome. Yes, and yes :-) That's my short answer...I tend to get lengthy sometimes. Seriously, yes, I am using the antibiotic therapy and have been enjoying wonderful results for the past three years. I can almost forget all of the aches, pains, fatigue, weakness and everything else, as they are a thing of the past. I still take my Minocin and Biaxin, under the care of one of the most experienced rheumatologists, Dr. A. Franco of Riverside, CA ( www.thearthritiscenter.com ) The antibiotic protocol works wonderfully in many rheumatic diseases, and is also used for children. (In their case, erythromycin is used because the tetracyclines cause teeth discoloration in children under 8 years old.) Yes, people are reluctant to use it or push it IF their doctor has pooh-poohed the idea. Because so many people have been the instigators in getting their doctors to prescribe it, finally more and more doctors are seeing that it really does work. Dr. Franco and Dr. Garth Nicolson have done a lot of research on mycoplasma which are thought to be responsible for these rheuamtic diseases. The general medical world has been slow to accept this connection, as up until now, it's been difficult to culture the mycoplasma and verify that they really are a factor in our illnesses. Dr. Nicolson has developed a way to use PCR (polyermase chain reaction) testing to find mycoplasma in blood, tissue, and joints of people with RA, fibromyalgia, and other diseases. He even taught the Department of Defense how to test for mycoplasma in Gulf War Vet's. Have a look at his website at www.immed.org Hang in there Bill. I have a feeling that one of these days there will be more discoveries that will help all of us. Take care, Connie > Connie, > > Thanks for the links. Guest guest
Hi Bill, The following link is from Dr. Nicolson's website at www.immed.org It links mycoplasma infections in rheumatic diseases and also AIDS/HIV http://www.immed.org/publications/iffectious_disease/pub3.html It looks like Dr. Nicolson recommends antibiotics and also augmenting the immune system with supplements or neutraceuticals. There is also another doctor, Dr. ph Mercola, who has some definite guidelines on getting the most from your diet. His website is www.mercola.com The way he set up his website is to give his comments on the medical topics that come up in the various journals. It took me a while in the beginning to scroll all the way down and find his comments...which sometimes agree with the article and sometimes disagree. He heartily agrees with the antibiotic protocol for rheumatic diseases. Try searching for " arthritis " in his site. ~Connie
