Guest guest
Just wanted to congratulate you and your daughter on a sucessful (sp?) surgery! Hope the recovery goes just as smooth! I bet she is glad to be on " the other side " now. Can't wait to hear her accounts on how it went. Best wishes, TLC (3mo post op SARPE & pre-op for upper and lower) > She went in a 10:00 a.m. and they brought her back to her room at > 4:00 p.m. Upper and Lower was done, she is banded, but no wires. > Ice packs bilaterally, some expected swelling, but responding in > writing that the pain is not bad at all so far. Guest guest
You and she will be happier if you stay. Be sure the nurses know about the nausea. There are drugs to help with that. If she's smiling, glad to see you, with no bad pain, she's doing well indeed! Don't worry about us -- but thanks for letting us know! She'll be in good hands, and she sounds like she's headed for a rapid recovery. The ice will help with the swelling, and with the pain -- you'll probably use it for the first 48 hours, or, of course, as your docs instruct, and then switch to heat. So glad it all went well. You've had a long day of it, and so has she. You'll probably have a long night -- and the next couple of days may be tough for her. But you're on the way. Conserve your energies and hers, do not hesitate to stay ahead of the pain with her, using whatever chemicals the docs prescribe. She is fortunate to have you with her, and both of you are doing an excellent job! Cammie

Guest guest
Excellent! So glad to hear your daughter is doing so well! Smiling! Gives me much-needed inspiration. She's very lucky to have a dad like you. I hope things go better and better for her as the days go by. Continued healing for your daughter, Irish! > She went in a 10:00 a.m. and they brought her back to her room at > 4:00 p.m. Upper and Lower was done, she is banded, but no wires. > Ice packs bilaterally, some expected swelling, but responding in > writing that the pain is not bad at all so far. Guest guest
Hi Mark, it's incredible that you have posted already. Thank you so much for letting us know that she is out of surgery and doing well. Please give her my best and tell her, is she needs to talk to a post- op, I'm here for her and for you. I'm 5 months post-op and couldn't be happier with the outcome. I'm so thankful that I went through with it. > She went in a 10:00 a.m. and they brought her back to her room at > 4:00 p.m. Upper and Lower was done, she is banded, but no wires. > Ice packs bilaterally, some expected swelling, but responding in > writing that the pain is not bad at all so far. Guest guest
I'm glad everything went well. It's great that your daughter is in good spirits.. Only a special dad would spend a night in the hospital with her. She is one special girl!! Welcome to the other side!
