DO YOU REMEMBER WHEN?All the girls had ugly gym uniforms?[it took five minutes for the TV warm up?[

Nearly everyone's Mom was at home when the kids got home from school?[

Nobody owned a purebred dog?[

When a quarter was a decent allowance?[image: d9bd0c.jpg]You'd reach into a muddy gutter for a penny?[image: d9bd20.jpg]Your Mom wore nylons that came in two pieces?[image: d9bd34.jpg]All your male teachers wore neckties and female teachers had their hair doneevery day and wore high heels?[image: d9bd3e.jpg]You got your windshield cleaned, oil checked, and gas pumped, withoutasking, all for free, every time? And you didn't pay for air? And, you gottrading stamps to boot?[image: d9bd52.gif]Laundry detergent had free glasses, dishes or towels hidden inside the box?[image: d9bd5c.jpg]It was considered a great privilege to be taken out to dinner at a realrestaurant with your parents?They threatened to keep kids back a grade if they failed. .. . and they did?[image: d9bd7a.jpg]When a 57 Chevy was everyone's dream car.. to cruise, peel out, lay rubberor watch submarine races, and people went steady?[image: d9bd8e.jpg]No one ever asked where the car keys were because they were always in thecar, in the ignition, and the doors were never locked?[image: d9bda2.jpg]Lying on your back in the grass with your friends?and saying things like, 'That cloud looks like a.... '?[image: d9bdac.gif]Playing baseball with no adults to help kids with the rules of the game?[image: d9bdb7.jpg]Stuff from the store came without safety caps and hermetic seals because noone had yet tried to poison a perfect stranger?[image: d9bdcb.gif]And with all our progress, don't you just wish, just once, you could slipback in time and savor the slower pace? Share it with the children of today.[image: d9bdd5.jpg]When being sent to the principal's office was nothing compared to the fatethat awaited the student at home?[image: d9bddf.jpg]Basically we were in fear for our lives, but it wasn't because of drive-byshootin gs, drugs, gangs, etc. Our parents and grandparents were a muchbigger threat!
