Hi ,

Welcome to the group! Your post caught my eye because you may be

the first member I know of that is getting the Becker Band. I don't

know much about the Becker Band, but I know it is FDA approved as of

Feb. 2002. I can not tell from the FDA approval submission

paperwork whether or not it is an " active " or " passive " band, which

may be of interest to you since your daughter is one, an older

baby. Their paperwork says the band applies " gentle " pressure

instead of " static, " so it may very well be an active band. Here is

a link to the Becker Band product:

http://www.beckerortho.com/cranial/cranial.htm

We also have this same picture of the Becker Band in our

files/helmet and band brand photos folder. It looks to me like

there is a hole in the top of the band; is that how your daughter's

is designed?

Also, from their webpage, it looks like Becker is offering training

seminars to orthos so that they can distribute this helmet to other

locations. If you don't mind my asking, which location are you

going to? We only have the one location listed in our Helmet/Band

Database, I think it's in Troy, Michigan. If you have time to post

here and there throughout your daughter's treatment, we could sure

use some Becker Band first-hand experience postings here regarding

the band, fit, treatment protocol, etc. Mabye the ortho could tell

you if he/she considers the Becker Band to be an active band. Any

information would be appreciated!

Please let us know how the initial fitting goes for your daughter;

did they say how long it would be until the band was in?

Take care,

Christie (Mom to Repo'd Remy)
