Hi ,

I missed some of what you wrote , but I am sorry for what It seems you have

gone through...I have had 6 miscarriages and three babies . Its been a long road

and mostly a rough one.....I wasn't tested for Hypothyroidism until after my

second child was born...Looking back , I was most likely hypo during the time I

was PG with my first born .

I had ALL , but one miscarriages...long before my fist child was born , when I

wasn't Hypo . ( As far as I know ) . When I was PG with my last child I was on

medication for Hypothyroidism and it was important for both her and I . As Fee

Said.. its Vital

Children can be born with developmental problems if they do not get the hormones

they need . From what I did and what I was told .... A pregnant women should

have her blood work done often ( each trimester) to make sure that her levels

do not rise...and adjust if they do . Unfortunately...I feel it just depends on

our bodies individually , I don't think that we know for sure ...why , or why

not or what or who will have a healthy pregnancy . I had all the miscarriages

when I was " healthy " had two Healthy babies when I was ill , Had a 60% chance of

my third child being still born...all nine months...and having her happy and

healthy , with no real reason given . I pray good things happen for you :)

Kind of off the subject.......To my surprise , when I had my last child...March

2002...one of the test they now give a new born...includes a thyroid test...Its

included in a test called KP test .( not sure the name...KP , KPP test???)

Normal procedure now....In my hospital ..anyways , makes you think...I was told

, more women are having thyroid problems and now our children .

Anyways... good luck...I know , first hand...It can be hard . It all depends on

how much ...is too much for a person . I had my first miscarriage when I was 5

1/2 month PG and I thought , that was all I could take....I guess...you can

never tell . I thought after having a molar Pregnancy last year ....than needing

a hysterectomy ...That would be all I could take . Now we are going to start the

adoption process....I hear that can be painful too. Best wishes ,

OOPS! Sorry for rambling!!

Hypothyroidism, the Unsuspected Illness... multiple miscarriages

and one particular lady who when taking her thyroid meds, carried her

babies (3 out of 7). She would start to feel better, then stop the

thyroid drugs.
