Guest guest
Janet, I'm glad you are getting to live the "Country Girl" life now - - - after moving around all your life and being a military "brat" and wife, you deserve to settle down and put down some roots. Where were you born, by-the-way? And what made you decide to settle down in Texas after living all over the country? I was in Germany (Augsburg & Munich) for one year when my husband was in the Army - - he loved it there and has always thought it would be the ideal place to live - - but we have never gone back, so I'm sure it is quiet different now. That was in 1958/59 when I was there - - - HAVE A GOOD DAY - - - ((((HUGS))) Clara No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus. Also lived in Illesheim and Mainz. I left Germany in 1982 when I was a junior at Weisbaden HS. My parents met when dad was stationed in Munich. Mom is from Tumiching, a tiny town in Bavaria but was working as a nanny in Munich when the met. As far as deciding to 'retire' in Texas??... Hubby retired from the Army in '96, while we were stationed in Kentucky. We had hoped to return to Leavenworth, Kansas, where we were stationed for several years and loved it. BUT, Kansas has property taxes and also taxes military retirement pay...and couldn't find a job there that would pay enough to keep me livin' the lifestyle to which I was accustomed. LOL!! My parents had retired in this area, so took a job as a civilian contractor on Fort Hood. Every summer when the temperature goes over 100 degrees, we always wonder what the heck we were thinkin' when we decided to move here! But, we're here to stay now. Sometimes we talk about moving to whereever our kids end up, but I'm not leavin' my TOPS chapter!! lol. I'll post my bio to the list. I have it saved on my computer and have posted it to different email loops when I joined. hugs, Janet
