this is ... I just got my ABI on wednesday ( May 16th 2001) , it works pretty good i have 6/21 channels, I can understand some voices, It helps ALOT in speech reading well at least it does for me

I HAVE HAD MY ABI FOR 10 YEARS NOW AND I WOULD DO IT AGAIN IF I HAD TO.

SURE ITS NOT LIKE THE HEARING GOD GAVE US BUT IT IS BETTER THAN HEARING

NOTHING.

- Thanks for the interpretation. You are better than my medical

staff who I PAY to talk to me! The free stuff is more comprehendable!

I do have an ABI without a magnet. I think it was who said they are

making the newer ones without the magnets. Ya, my doctor did say if I

would have had a magnet simple operation to remove it temporarily. Have the

MRI than place the magnet again. 20 minute procedure. So have to add

another 40 minutes on to your MRI appointment. I am not too fond of them

dinking with my head! or anyplace else!

But thanks a lot for your words. It is good to know you would have

another ABI. That helps me a lot.
