Hi, I am new here and would like to ask for any help in regards to

diet. Just recently was diagnosed with Type 2. Do have a cookbook

from the American Diabetes Organization and been to the site where

Avandia, the drug I am taking, has recipes. One thing is that these

recipes tend to be somewhat involved and some of the ingredients

cost. Is there something economical and easy to fix out there? I

work full time and do not have a lot to spend in $$$ or in time but

wondered what is out there that one could microwave or easy and

cheap to fix......but balanced.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have a fibromyalgia cookbood. It says that we should stay away from

red meat because it's harder for our bodies to digest. It tells us to

stay away from caffeine, carbonation, processed sugars, red meat, and

as much yeast food products as possible. Yeast stays in our system and

then builds up and builds up until it crystalizes in our muscles and

give us muscle pain. If you take Malic acid it kind of counter

balances the accumulated yeast.

Meg,

Magnesium is a primary ingredient of all FMS supplements.

Why would you not want to take it? I tried going without the supplement

years ago and found that I'd have more pain. It's a neccesity for me if I want to

function at all. I've also felt a lot better when on a low carbohydrate diet.

I've recently cut out caffeine and carbonated beverages and have more

endurance and energy. Also, I found if I take in too lmuch sodium during the

day, I pay at night with tingling feet and restless legs at night.

Diet, I think, is an important consideration to make ourselves more comfortable.

Its not that I don't want to take it -the

bottle was 30 dollars a month, and I didn't have that.

1. While it is wonderful to share our experiences with everyone on

the list as to what treatments do and don't work for us, pls always

check with your dr. Some treatments are dangerous when given

along with other meds as well as to certain health conditions or just

dangerous in general.

2. If you are in a difficult situation (doesn't matter what it is) pls

don't be afraid to ask for help. It is the first step to trying

to make that situation better.

3. To unsubscribe the e-mail is:

4. Also, it is not uncommon for more than one member to be feeling bad

at the same time when it comes to flares and b/c of that potentially

take something another member says the wrong way. And that

includes the things that one member may find funny (even if it's

laughing at fibro itself) even though we who deal with illness whether

one such as fibro or multiple illnesses try to keep a sense of

humor.

5. Pls let's be gentle with each other, and if you are having a bad

day pls let us know so that we can do our best to offer our

support.

Have a nice day everyone.
