Guest guest
Hi all, I have been going to a chiro recently for some lower back issues. Anyway, he has a chart on the wall regarding the spine and what part of the spine affects which part of the body. The thyroid is listed in teh upper part of the spine. From what he explained, if someone is having problems with a certain area, it is possible to do an adjustment in that particular area of the spine and it MAY help. For example, bed wetting.....a certain adjustment may stop it...or chronic ear infections. I guess I am asking if anyone has had any experience with this or done research. I know some feel that all of the chiro stuff is quacky and others beleive in it whole heartedly. Anyway, just curious and would like to hear what you think....I am definately not advocating that a chiro can " cure " thyroid probs....just curious. By the way, I posted this same thing yesterday and it never showed up. Oh, I had blood work earlier this week and am going back to the doc tomorrow. I am curious to know what my levels are....I am on 2 grains and feel much better than a few months ago. However, there are still some issues that my or may not be thyroid related. I doubt the doc will want to increase Armour as my FT3 was almost over the limit last test six weeks ago. We shall see.... Thanks, Kat
Guest guest
I think chiros are good... that sounds lame.. but anyway..... it would depend on what is wrong with the thyroid... if it diseased I don't know if an adjustment would help... but if it's running insufficiently for another reason, or there are binding or conversion issues due to the balance of the body being off from a pinched nerve or something.. that makes sense... In my case it was genetic.. so their really wasn't much anyone could do.... I'd really be interested in hearing more on the subject, though.... Guest guest
Can you explain where exactly this pain is that you're having? The reason I want to know is that my mom also has low back pain but it is slightly off center. She was told it is her SI joint and I believe that to be true. She hasn't gotten any relief from chiropractic care. She is hypo and is on the dreaded Synthroid. On top of that I don't believe she's even on a high enough dose. Her last blood test (TSH) was 3.5. I've tried to tell her about Amour but I don't think she believes that she can feel better. She also is still tired, depressed, achy, cold, high cholesterol, etc. She thinks a lot of it is in her head. I tried to tell her it isn't. Shelli Chiropractor and Thyroid Hi Kat I was on 2 grains of Armour but STILL continued with the awful low back pain. To cut a long story short, I added 25 mcgs. T4 and I have NO pains whatsoever. I told my sister about this as she was also just taking 2 grains Armour and was suffering pains. She tried this regimen and she too has lost this pain. I have had letters from two other members who have gone down the same road (Pam and Anne, where are you?) - they too are reporting that they have benefited from adding T4. Anybody else tried this - and WHY is this working? Luv - Sheila
Guest guest
If you are on too low a dose of thyroid meds, you will not hold an adjustment. Also, an upslipped hip which is what is probably is street lingo called, is very common and along with meds at the right level, she will need to do back exercise as well as stomach ones.
