Guest guest
Hello everyone, I had my surgery on Wednesday June 26th and this is my best friends account of my big day!! June 26, 2002 Hello, Trina here writing for Sharice She had her surery today we warrived at the hospital at about 11 AM. She was signed in and then changed into her hospital pjs. (I kept on complaining how thirsty I was between the times) Around 1:15 the anasthesiologist came to get her for surgery. At 1:20 she left for the operating room. The surgery was expected to last 4 hourse. The doctor came out at 3:34 to let us know that the surgery went wonderfully. He said she did really good and there wer no complications. He told us to expect swelling and pain for the next few days. 30 minutes later we visited sharice in post op. For someone who had just had jaw srugery she looked REALLY GOOD!!! A little swollen but still as cute as ever. We knew she was going to be a trooper when she wrote that she was ready to get her hair done. When we asked her if she was ok she replied, yes this isn't as bad as cramps!!! It makes me sad to see her like this, but I'm going to be strong for her. Right now at 9:30 ON sge us diubg ij. Other than the fact she's having difficulty swallowing she's fine. She drifts in and out of consciousness. Till later. Trina Before the surgery the anasthesteiologist asked me did i want to try a little gas before they put the IV in. I said sure. And he said well you'll start laughing and then before you know it it will be over. so i said cool. So he put this bubble gum flavored gas over my nose and mouth and i started laughing and some people who were around the table were like you're so silly what are you laughing at i said HAHAHAHAH I'M HIIIIIGHHHHH and they said you're HIGH, WHAT ARE YOU HIGH OFF and i'm said I'M HIGH OFF WEEEEED!!! LOL and they all started laughing. They're were like 20 people in the OR room. Well that was just a touch of humor i had before i went under. The surgery is not bad at all. I had an underbite i guess what they call a class 3 or whatever. they moved my lower jaw back and my upper jaw forward. I think I look pretty damn good!!! They couldn't believe my speedy recovery in 2 days. I have most of the feeling back in my face, even though i'm still swollen, i feel my bones coming together, and my teeth are kind of throbbing. I'm also itching wich is also a good sign, that means my blood is flowing well and my nerves are all in tact. I also drunk out of a cup 2 days post op, which they really couldn't believe. They had to give me a shot of benadryl that knocked me out for like a whole day which was good cause i didn't sleep the night before. For everyone awaiting surgery there is nothign to worry about. If i can get through it ANYONE CAN GET THROUGH IT. TRUST ME. The first night I couldn't sleep breathe, or swallow good but that all past after the first night and my body started recouperating. if you have any questions or whatever hit me up on that email and i will continue posting to keep all up to date.
