Guest guest
Hey everyone. Just had a question. My son, Dylan (now 12 months old), has been in his Starband for about 6 weeks now. We saw what appeared to be great improvement within the first 3 weeks and haven't seen as much in the last 3 weeks. I'm kind of concerned about this. My question is, could that mean that his growth has slowed or could it be harder to see the improvement now that his head is not so flat? I'd appreciate any of your help with this. Thanks! Guest guest
Hi Beth, It can be really hard to see the subtle changes that have most likely happened in the last 3 weeks. My son was banded for 21 weeks total and we saw the biggest change the last few weeks that he was banded. There was progress in the first 16 weeks or so, but it was much more subtle and it was not reflected in his measurements at all. He rounded out on the bottom part of his head first, well below where he was measured. Don't give up hope. It does happen...just not always on our schedule! - mom to Aidan STARgrad 02/04 GR Mi > Hey everyone. > Just had a question. Guest guest
Hello Beth I do think that you are right with both suggestions. After 12months the growth slows down a little plus when they aren't severe you can't see change as much anymore. Keep us posted. Guest guest
, I also have noticed it mostly on the bottom first. I noticed that you're from GR. Have we talked before? Did you go to Free Bed? Is Aidan on the Orthomerica website? I know that there is an Aidan on there from GR. Which orthotist did you see? We see Ellie there. We're going tomorrow for his next adjustment so I'll post after hearing what she says about his progress. Thanks for responding! Beth > > Hey everyone. > > Just had a question.
