Guest guest
Give us an idea of what you are eating.... how often do you eat... others here have brought up glycemic problems... I'm not really up on all of that.. I know I should be.... I have too many financial issues and went the 'balance as best you can route' and just try to keep protein content higher so that I'm not exactly low carb, or even reduced carb... just higher protein..... So with that basic concept... I then took my daily calories and just broke it all down in many small meals a day - mini meals... that's covered a lot of my hunger, digestion, energy, reflux and weight issues.... Guest guest
Hi Sheila, Okay, you brought up an interesting question/thought... you said that you are afraid of gaining back weight... My question to this is: Are you on a diet? If so, what diet formula are you following? if one at all? what is your calorie count? on a daily basis? what is your protein count in grams? what is your carb count in grams? what is your fat count in grams? Do you know what your protein to fat to carb ratio is??? What supplements are you taking? And to help you a bit, may we know what your height is, in inches? and what the weight range that you are trying to maintain currently? You aren't trying to lose weight at the same time as your body is trying to adjust to a new thyroid medicine....are you? My thoughts are this...You may be being too restrictive in your food intake, volume wise, during this period of getting onto a new medicine. Guest guest
Hi Gossimer I guess i am trying to lose weight if i am honest. I am 5ft 4 inches and haven't weighed myself recently, i am based in the u.k. so i am probably u.s. size 6/8. I am not eating much at all, partly because i am scared. What can i eat? dont eat potatoes, pasta (am gluten free) apart from oatmeal this morning i had a couple of brazil nuts (had a crisis, didn't even think of lunch) and fish with vegetables (no potatoes) for supper. Dont have dairy as it blocks me up (currently on antibiotics for a sinus infection), cant have soya for obvious reasons, take goats milk with my coffee, have eggs now and then but thats about all the protein i guess. Felt a little better after the rice cake. Stopped the supplements last week in case any of them were interacting with Armour. I was taking glucosamine for my joiints, Vit C, Adreno Lyph Plus, and Fish Oil. Its the palps thats scaring me the most, but tomorrow i will split the Armour dose and see if i feel any better. > > Following on from my previous message, Just sat down an hour ago > my > > pulse was high, had a rice cake and its come down and i feel a > little > > better. Guest guest
Hi Sheila, Weeellllll, from what you described, you are not eating enough, or maybe it's not often enough. Being Gluten free is great. It's too bad that you can't eat anything dairy because cheese makes for great on the on the go foods, snacks, etc. Maybe add more eggs (hardboiled eggs make for great in a hurry breakfast or lunch grab food), fruits, salads, veggies, meat, fish, (Protein from some source), butter and olive oil for cooking and salad dressings, real mayonnaise (made without sugar or any sweetner)...more variety in nuts... Drink water by the boatload, at least 64 oz's. Filtered helps the taste or adding a touch of lemon juice helps it all go down. Water is what helps flush the old cells and material (toxins) from your system. And a by-product is it helps your new skin come in softer and fresher looking. You don't want to put your body into starvation mode just as you are getting onto medicine that will help you feel tons better. Once you begin to feel better you will feel like moving more and by getting out and about you will naturally tone up your body and convert what is left of the fat into sleek, smooth muscles that will help you ride the bike down the park..... my imagination could go on but I hope that you catch my drift... EAT, even if it is a salad and a piece of fruit. You have to nourish your body to help it get better. I hope this helps a little bit. Let us know who things are going for you, Okay? Guest guest
Hi Gossimer, Thanks for the tips, i am at a loss sometimes what to eat, eggs are good, took some to the office once but my co-workers were not happy with that!!! I think as my meds balance out prhaps my appetite will return and i will then be more interested in not just eating but preparing and planning meals. I do drink lots of water but cant hold onto it too well, (adrenals ?) You are all so supportive on this forum which is wonderful. Thank You Sheila > > Hi Gossimer > > > > I guess i am trying to lose weight if i am honest.
