3 choices of recovery (for upper jaw surgery)

was anyon here given three choices of how to heal after surgery? My

doctor first gave me two and told me their consequences: 1.) to wear

a halo mechanism after surgery, to hold my upper jaw in place, and

i'd have to wear it for 2 months. 2.) to get a piece of bone from my

hip, and place it into the upper jaw, to hold its place, as it

heals, my doctor said that theres a good chance it'll just go back

to its original place, and that this option isnt that well. 3.) he

gave me the third option later on, and told me that hea will

probably end up using it...to put screws and plates in there to hold

the upper jaw forward, and hold my lower jaw back.

I dont know if anyone else was given these choices, I almost had to

wear a halo for 2 months, then later he told me that he was going to

put screws in instead, and i was at ease once i heard that.
