Guest guest
My daughter is still in a rear facing car seat. She has very poor neck and head control. When she is in her helmet in the car, her head flops forward. She doesnt fit in a carrier anymore. I have tried a few other carseats with no luck. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on a good one that will help her head not flop around. 's mom
Guest guest
I just got the Evenflo Triumph DLX and love it. It has lots of removable cushioning but I still use it all except for the infant head support. I still have it rear facing and it reclines nicely for to be comfortable and have his head back. I had wanted to get the britax but this one looked so much more comfortable and has similar safety ratings (and was significantly less expensive). Once he got his DOC band I did take out the little pillow because it looked like it was pushing his head forward. On longer drives I now wedge it in on his tort side and it helps hold he heads upright. Hope this helps. Dawn > My daughter is still in a rear facing car seat. Guest guest
BOPPY makes a Boppy Neck Ring for infants. It looks just like the full size Boppy, only smaller, for babies necks. You simply place it on thier neck in the carseat, and it helps prevent the flopping forward or sideways. You can get those at Babies R-Us and I think Target may carry something very similar. It costs all of about 5 bucks, so there would be no reason to go and buy a whole new carseat if tht would work for you. It worked with both of my boys when they were infants, and still works for at 13 months when he falls asleep in the car. hope that helps. kelli mommy to jacob banded 12/23/03 - 01/28/04 and again for regression 09/18/04 - ?? > I just got the Evenflo Triumph DLX and love it. Guest guest
Hi , As long as you're w/in the recommended incline level of the carseat, you may be able to use a pool noodle to give the carseat a bit more of an incline. Also, since they say this new helmet will have less layers of foam maybe that will help. When will 's helmet be in? , mom to Hannah, DOCgrad 7/29 Cape Cod, Ma > My daughter is still in a rear facing car seat. She has very poor > neck and head control. Guest guest
, Try using some pool noodles or towels to give her car seat more of an angle. We had to use 2 towels wrapped around 2 pool noodles to get ours at the right angle. There was a line on the side of our convertible seat that was supposed to be parallel to the ground (this made a 45 deg angle I think). When it was parallel na had no problems. To me a lot of rear facing seats look like they are sitting too up right. With any adjustments make sure the seat does not move more than 1" in any direction when tugged on near the belt path (i.e. if you tug on the top it will appear to move more, tug near where the belt goes through).
