Guest guest
Chen, Carolyn is so adorable! You did a great job documenting her head shape and the band fit. The different views really help get the full picture. The decorating is AWESOME ! Did you do that? WOW Ok now to your fit questions. I see where your concern is but I'm not convinced you should be overly concerned. It looks like a great fit. I can see from the birds eye view (sans band) the spot you are talking about. However, I think it may "stick" out more because her flat area is so flat right behind it. Does that make sense? So when looking at the bird's eye view - if the back right filled in and the front left filled in - she wouldn't have a bulge on either side. I'm going to check na's pics to see how her ear size was on the velcro side. It looks a little big but I need to compare. I know CT can't guarantee 100% correction. I would think some correction is better than none. Have you seen the head mold yet? Probably not. how old is Carolyn - from the pictures I'm guessing she is on the young side. Are you going every week or 2 weeks? Can the clinician detect an improvement? Have they had the other clinicians in the office take a look at the fit? Have they tried to explain at all why it is OK and no need for concern? I'll see if I can get some pics put together of na for you to compare to. It'll be tonight though. Please don't give up yet. mom to na DOC Gradchen_s2000 <chenshu88@...> wrote: ,Thanks for the explaination. I added photo under Carolyn. From the photo you can see, she has a bulge on her right side (at the opening) and flat on her right back (after the opening). Not like na, Carolyn's bulge on her right side is not just fluid pocket caused by the band but original, and I expected the band to correct that. I feel that the band should be a little bigger so that the back of the band can go more forward and just on the bulge. But now, the back of the helmet is too far back so that it's on her flat area (right back) and leaves the bulge (right side at the opening) unattended. With the opening kind of big, will that make the bulge more prominent? Every time, when I take off her band, I see her right back (where the edge is) is pressed flatter.Since the clinician said they'll not change her band for another one, I'm thinking about giving it up. They said they can refund all the money that I've paid. But that means Carolyn won't have any chance to get her headshape improved ( better than wearing a poor fitted band?) and no protection of the head any more :-)Thanks,Chen & CarolynDOCBand 8/26/04> > > Hi All,> > > It's been one and half week since we have Carolyn on DOCBand. > > > Carolyn has buldge on the right side of her back and left side > of > > > her front. Guest guest
Thanks & ! Someone decorated the band and apparently she did a great job:-) Carolyn was 13 months when she had the band on (She doesn't have much hair and that make you think she's younger:-)). I've seen the head mold but I forgot to put the band on it to see how it fit last time. I'll go to the clinic tomorrow. I'll try the head mold fitting then. Maybe I'm overly concerned, but I still think the opening is too big (about one and half inches). No other clinicians at this location and they said the head grows from back to side. So it's ok if the back of band is on the flat side a little. Guest guest
Chen, Instead of putting the band on the headsicle try running your hand over it and over Carolyn's head. Look at the different angles. It'll be easier to see the correction since Carolyn doesn't have much hair. She does look young but I'm skeewed since na is very big for her age. At 12 months she was the size of an avg 18 month old It may take 4 weeks before you start to see improvement considering her age. Cranial Tech really are the experts. I would give them some time. Ask at your next appoint for them to show you where they expect correction and how the band applies pressure to hold, etc. When is you next appointment? We can help you with a list a questions to ask so you can better understand the whole process. Sometimes it seems counterintuitive. Hang in there you are doing a great job and Carolyn is just so CUTE! mom to na DOC Grad SCchen_s2000 <chenshu88@...> wrote: Thanks & !
