Hi all,

Thanks, for wishing my summer cold away! I take great stock in

positive wishes and vibes from folks! And Elva, I hate heat, so I

sympathize with your getting through the days. I do really enjoy your

posts, and sense so much common sense and good attitude from you, I like to

scroll through the digests and see if you are around!

(sorry to hear about edema. I take a diuretic each day, thora-something,

and it seems to help in keeping excess water out of me. Which is funny,

because I drink a lot of water--I know it's healthy, but isn't it ironic to

drink gallons of water just to pee it away?)

I just peeked out the window and saw my neighbors are having a big lobster

cookout next door. Lobster is low-carb, isn't it? No, I won't crash

their party, but I do love seafood! I am too tuckered from this cold to

want to do much for the 4th, so I have fixed a fast dinner and will watch a

movie. (this is usually the least favorite holiday of any pets we ever

had--they hated the noise and mayhem of the fireworks!! Our big tough

Shepherd-Dane mix would puddle up in a nervous heap at the first sound of

fireworks, God bless him!)

Helen, what is that cookbook about you just got? I cook out of necessity,

not out of liking it, and am always interested in easy and fast meals.

Today, I tossed some shrimp in a vegetable medley and added some salad

dressing and called it dinner.
