Guest guest
Hi all, Just wanted to let you all know how well my sons doing. Hes the one that was in surgery for 12 hours. I would have to say that yesterday was his worst day yet because thats when he felt nauseous and starting vomiting. He panicked when he saw it was all red, but thanks to this group, I remained calm and told him it was probably blood that he swallowed (I remember some of you writing about the same thing). Hes still walking alittle like C3PO (as he calls it), because of the hip graft. But other than that I think hes doing extremely well. Swelling is minimal and bruising is also. Hes already eating blended foods and drinking without too much difficulty from a cup. The hardest thing for him right now is getting a good nights sleep. s jaw wraps are a godsend. So much more comfortable than the hospital contraption. We are holding off on his pain pill this morning and we'll see how he fairs. I gave him Motrin instead. He rated his pain as a three, so thats great. I think the Motrin will will take the edge off. Other than that, all is well. I think is age also has alot to do with it. Hes 17. And has always been a pretty good healer. Well, gotta run, will keep you posted. thanks to everyone for all your support and tips. I cannot even begin to express what a difference this group has made in our life. Thanks all!! (writing on behalf of her son )
Guest guest
Glad to hear your son is doing so well. I'm sure age does help & it won't be long that you can't imagine he had all this done so recently. I too would have freaked when I threw up blood had I not read it on here. Plus I had a few nose bleeds that would have worried me if I hadn't been warned about them. So while I have the chance: Thank you to all those who post & warn & also to all those who cheer & calm.
