I'm always amazed when a doc wants to add T3 to Armour, when all

they have to do is increase Armour, AND get the benefits of the

other T's and calcitonin.

I see great improvement labwise, but it's obvious that 2 grains is

not enough, and I'd bet that 2 1/2 is closer, but still not enough.

It wasn't until I got my freeT3 to the top of the range, which in

turn got my TSH to .009, did I fully rid myself of symptoms, and

that's on 3 grains.

And in the case of her nodule, she might see improvement by raising

that Armour a lot more!! The Lowe's in Boulder find progress with

nodules when their patients SUPPRESS the TSH, which means they are

getting a very high T3!! Her T3 is not there yet.

Also, could it be that her Ferritin is very low, which is so common

in hypo folks and can also explain why she still doesn't feel well??

Low Ferritin gives symptoms SO identical to hypothyroid.

Hi, I agree with Janie.

How is she feeling????

The most important thing that I am learning is getting the patient

to dose based upon how they are feeling over all...(not on a day to

day basis but week by week), not based upon the lab workups.

Although she has come a long ways in 4 months, her lab results,to

me, indicate that there is still alot of play that can be done with

the dosage. 2.5 might do the trick but for shrinking the nodules I

suspect that she may be looking at 3.0 , maybe even higher. She will

need to make the call on this.

I don't understand the adding of Cytomel unless the synthetic T3 is ?

more stable? in the body and therefore ???might stablize the T3 life

span in the blood stream?????

Hi Topper,

More Armour but the thing that stands out to me is the _high Reverse T3_.

Need to find out why it is so high if possible. Could be diet, other meds

etc. Remember that article about it we passed back and forth awhile ago?

With the high reverse T3 it will take more Armour to get enough T3 into the

cells. I think there is also more about RT3 on the Lowe site. Might also

just type Reverse T3 or RT3 into Google. I would but haven't time right now.

If you need that article I think I posted it to the list awhile back even

though it is long it is informative...

Peace, Love and Harmony,

Bev
