Beth,

I know what you are going through all to well. My Aidan grew more in

the 3 weeks between scanning and the fitting than he did next 21

weeks. If you looked back at all of my posts about Aidan between the

end of August and Feb, you would see me complaining that he had not

grown at all!!!!

It is OK!!!

Vent away!!

Thanks . Did everything come out OK? How is Aidan's head

shape now? When you look back, did the time go by fast when he was

in the helmet? It seems to be dragging!

Hi Beth,

I totally understand your frustration. We had almost no growth while

being banded. ~Sigh~ Keep your chin up though!

I am so sorry to hear that Beth. I am having trouble understanding though, is it that his head has not grown in accordance with the flat area, or has not grown at all? The reason I ask is my son has microcephaly..his head is about 16 1/2 inches around, grows maybe half an inch a year. I explained this to the man who banded him and he seemed very confident that even though my son's head doesn't grow, that the band can still move the head formation just as it would with any other head that is growing. Do you think he may have misrepresented, or not understood what he was saying? Does the head not improve in the flat area when the head is not growing?

Thanks,

Hello Beth

When Willow was banded at 6months of age she went from 12mm asym

down to 4mm within the first three wks, but then after 4wks was

still at 3mm. I think that overall it takes time and even though he

has not shown that much improvement for this adjustment next one

might be the charm. Keep the faith.
