My daughter was diagnosed at 17 with JDMS and has been quite a learning experience for both of us.. We were close before but much closer now. Her pain has been much greater than mine but to see your young daughter gain wisdom known only by a few is a heart breaking experience. I learned from my late sister who died with ovian cancer 6 wks after Cheri's diagnois that sometime the only way to get thru many many days is thru humor at things that are really not humorous. Laughter at the things we have no control over can help the tension and helps the soul much better than tears. I hope for those who haven't learned this will.
