Hi and welcome, Annette! I'm ,47, and developed polymyositis in

1975. I gradually recovered from that bout, and was basically fine up

until a year and a half ago. The doctor's I've seen since then seem

to feel I've not had a recurrence of myositis, but I have certainly

had something or things going on. I've had tremendous fatigue, some

weakness but not too debilitating- pain, joint problems and now

protruding discs in neck and lumbar spine. I have Raynaud's, as well.

That's enough of a description for now! The only meds I currently

take are Vioxx for pain and inflammation (should take it daily but

don't), a prescription antihistamine for years for " skin allergies " ,

and Ambien, a sleeping medication. I believe had some muscle damage

in certain areas back in '75/76- my neck has never been very strong

and certain shoulder and hip muscles don't seem as strong as they

should be--- I find a great deal of rest helps me now and am a

homemaker, so have the flexibility to nap- which I do most days every

afternoon. I find I have to.

Teddi- I am so sorry and you knkow I've gone throught the same thing

not too long ago- miss them terribly. I've also had that depression

inertia many times in my life, and I guess have come to terms with

that, more or less. It happens, gets better, life continues, and the

cycle recurs. I'm not on any antidepressants now, except for taking

teh natural S
