Also, is anybody's child on trileptal? My son was placed on that drug yesterday and will be on it for awhile. My main concern is that, with all anti-seizure medications, they affect the development of the child. This can be a big problem in children who already have significant developmental delays, causing their development to slow even further. I have not had a chance to speak to his neuro about this, though I did hear from his Resident that this drug is fairly new and does not cause as many growth problems in children with disabilities as other anti-seizure drugs do (such as phenobarb). I wanted to hear about what experiences the parents in this group may have had about this drug. Can you leave a message for the neuro to call you back? I would think he is the person you do want to talk to. Let us know how it goes. Is still in the hospital?
