Guest guest
hi All, I know I haven't been around in awhile. I had a health scare in March that they still haven't diagnosed. On the good side I went through another round of tests in June and all is back to normal and no signs of the illness. It could just be a one time occurance. - Yeah. Ok now on to dear na. She turned 1 almost a month ago. I can't believe it. She is walking (has been for awhile), no talking. Her head still looks great if not a slight improvement. I'll have to take some bath shots that only this group would appreciate. And the great news ... her tort is RESOLVED. She was discharged from PT this past Tuesday. There may still be the tiniest bit of a tilt but only the tort police or pt would see it. She had a growth spurt in June and it didn't get worse in fact it got better. Her website is www.thefilyaws.com I still need votes on which pic for the DOC calendar. I grouped some together on her website (http://www.thefilyaws.com/Album%20to% 20publish/DOCcalendar.html) or you can just go through her other pics (October - February) and let me know. mom to na (6/11/03), moderate plagio Doc 1 10/27 - 11/26 Doc 2 12/10 - 2/20 Tort - RESOLVED South Carolina (Treated in Charlotte)
Guest guest
Hi ! You have been very much missed around here! I am so happy to hear that rounds of tests are all showing normal. So na is already 1! Remy turned 2 recently - the time really does fly by way too quickly. Very exciting to hear that na may also have experienced some post-grad rounding; I can't wait to see some photos. Speaking of photos, I had and extremely hard time picking out just one to recommend for the DOC calender. I settled on the one of her sitting on the frog blanket " -2004-01-01 044.jpg. " They really all look darling and her personality really shines through. Let us know which one you end up picking! Guest guest
4-5 hours? Wow, na is going to hate that. the DVD player is a awesome idea. We will take it for sure. Also, getting the IV in her arm. If they have troubles with her hand then I will suggest it. Thanks!!! It's easier if you know what to expect. ne > > > Audrey started Remcaide in October. We really haven't had any bad side effects with it. They will premedicate with Benadryl and Tylenol, and the worst part was the Benadryl tasted awful. So we had them change the order so that she gets the Benadryl in her IV. She hates getting the IV put in, but once that's in, we're okay. Our first infusion took about 4 to 5 hours, but now we take about 4 hours. Audrey enjoys getting to order whatever she wants off the menu. She is soon to be 6 (on Thursday!), and she handles things okay. We just bring up our portable DVD player and a bunch of movies and she's okay. You might want to make sure that they put the iv in her non-dominant hand, so she can color and eat and stuff like that. They have put it more into her arm the last 2 times, and it's worked a lot better than having it in the top of her hand. > > > > Hope that helps, > > > > > > > > > From: susannefountain@... > Date: Tue, 19 May 2009 12:29:58 +0000 > Subject: Update on na > > > > > > > > Thanks for all the advice and emotional support. > > na will be starting Remicade infusions in a couple weeks. The hospital just has to get it all in order.Hopefully this will put her Uveitis into remission. > > Can anyone tell me what to expect with this? Up until now na has been on MTX injections and Steroid drops. I'm just wondering what side effects she may get from the Remicade. I read that it takes about 2 hours, so between the IV and the time it takes it won't be pretty for her at all. I know at 5 she will have a hard time sitting there that long. Any advice or suggestions wold be appreciated. > > Thanks so much!!!! > > ne & na 5 JIA, Uveitis > > > > > > > > > > _________________________________________________________________ > HotmailĀ® has ever-growing storage! Guest guest
My daughter is on Remicade and it seems to go well. OF course she is 16 and we always do homework and play games while we sit there. Does the hospital you are going to have a Child Life Department? You should ask and then request their assistance. They will give you ideas and tips to make it all work out. Our infusion center also has a wii game and we have played with that as well. The time goes pretty fast. IF you have more questions let me know.
