With the Diabets I track eveyr morsel of food that crosses mylips and no way should I hold this poundage with what I am eating. So I think a bit more tweaking up was called for. So you experienced hyper at last? I think I remember you saying this had never happened to you? If I remember rightly that is. I am so discouraged by not losing any weight on the Atkins induction diet a while back Val. What I don't understand is that I DID lose weight this time last year when I went on a candida diet and they are pretty similar, in fact if anything I should have lost more on the Atkins and all I lost was water in the first week and then zilch for three weeks. I wonder if you have any idea why this should happen? Something must have changed with my metabolism for me to be unable to lose weight now on Atkins. I understand what you are saying and I look forward to the day as i am sure a lot of us do on these lists. What is confusing me is that this time last year, when I was indeed very hypo, I lost nearly 20 lbs on the candida diet! This is wierd to me. I always thought i knew how to lose weight I just had to lose the bad carbs BUT I cannot lose weight now even with losing the bad carbs. And all this happened in one year. Guest guest
Actually I am a Diabetic and though I was on HC when diagnosed, I had it a year before starting HC. Whne I take HC now it actually lowers my glucose. Takign too much could easily trigger it however. I also lost 91 poounds last year on HC. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
So is the key here is not taking too much h/c or can simply taking hc trigger diabetes in some people especially if they're on the cusp? I used to think I was borderline because my NON fasting A1C used to be a couple points over normal but something you said smacked me back to reality. It's the fasting A1C that determines your diabetic status I believe. I'm going to start using my monitor again to see where I'm at. Lastly, the weight, that's extraordinary - 91 pounds. You must have been thrilled when that started coming off. I lost 60 lbs and I'm so afraid of gaining it back. Do you think you were the exception Val, do people lose weight as opposed to gaining on hc? ******************************* Actually I am a Diabetic and though I was on HC when diagnosed, I had it year before starting HC. Guest guest
I think the weight loss depends on if they are on ENOUGH thyroid and ENOUGH Cortiosl to get it into the cells. Unfortunately I got sick again after that and regained 30 pounds but that is still far better than I was! LOL Typiocal 3 steps forward, one step back which seems to be the way with hypo! I do NOT think physiological dose of HC cause Diabetes. Guest guest
Y9ou are probably MORE hypo this year than last year. I usually run in fits and bursts when my metabolism kicks in I can feel it by HUNGER. Then I knwo iI will lose weight if I diet. Most the time I never feel hunger. That is from being hypo and having no metabolism to speak of. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
I am starving all the time, even when I was pigging out and gaining and even when I was on HC and Armour, and even when my labs reported I was in a catabolic state. WHy I do not know. My doc thinks it is insulin resistance and he gave me some insulinase, whatever that is for. -- Re: Re: diabetes and weight Y9ou are probably MORE hypo this year than last year. Guest guest
>>What do the terms " physiological dose " and " pharmacological dose " mean? What's the difference?<< Physiological doses are only replacing what the body woul dmake if it coud and was working poroperly. Pharmacological doses are WAY more than the body would EVER make on its own.Pharmacological doses of almost any hormone is detrimental to a persons health. Hormones are such that they should only be used in doses to simulate what nature intended for best health. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
