Guest guest Posted September 2, 2004 Report Share Posted September 2, 2004 Thanks to all who replied... I did indeed call the ped yesterday, and finally got a call back late in the afternoon. They said that because her fingernails aren't blue, and the blue-tinged lips are only intermittent, not constant, that she's probably fine and they didn't need to see her. They didn't even adress the heavy/loud breathing... guess they are not concerned. The only thing they said was that if her lips were blue all day, or if her finger/toe nails turned blue, then I should call and bring her in. So I guess she's fine! And today is her 1 year birthday! Apparently she was excited about it, since she was awake 45 minutes early this morning! When the fingernails turn blue as well, and toe nails then you really have a problem b/c by that time the entire body is deprived of oxygen. Diagnosing over the phone just doesn't cut it. You have a right to have your baby seen by the doc when this is going on. Remember, the peds were wrong about the plagio and this could be much more serious - could even be life threatening......
