Guest guest
Ok all first and foremost, there are too many to thank individually (Jen, Jan,Anita, Jodi, Connie, --just to name a few) I will give you what is hopefully the last update on this needle saga. Just finished number 5. I'm not pleased with the time. But again, he should be falling asleep at 8:30 once we are back at school and I really only waited an hour tonight. So it'll be a more reasonable time for me next week!! Used the inject ease tonight. Only let it sit on counter about 10 minutes max. Swabbed arm with alcohol (all the bandaid residue is everywhere thought it best --he stirred), wiped it off with a cotton ball, pushed the inject ease firmly against his arm, pushed button, I think I counted to 5 while I was still plunging--not sure (still nervous), he stirred when the needle went in (but no jumps or shouts or startling at all!!), I took out the needle, wiped with cotton ball (we did get a small ball of blood tonight--but the meds seemed to go in), noticed we had a circle mark on the arm from the inject ease (that wasn't there last night), on with the bandaid and now I'm going to hop quickly into the tub!!!! I think we have success!!! One minor note--you can all put your thinking caps back on again--the needle came out bent sideways. OK so what's with that???? Again, really and honestly you guys have gone beyond the call of duty. You have walked me through the steps (even getting your own out to explain--Connie it was great!!) and I can't think of anyway else I could have got the help, support and pats on the back. These last five days have been rough--and I couldn't have done it alone. You see, I'm not because I have you guys only a screen away!!! Oh so sentimental tonight. But I really don't know how I would ever be able to thank you guys. This mom has been a bag of nerves. Instead of phoning clinics (or God forbid the endo--who still hasn't called me from Wed. re the expired GH!!!) I had you. Other wise, I'm sure it wouldn't have worked for us. And the inject ease is much much better on Adam. I like the control of the needle/syringe but after tonight, I can see that it doesn't cause as much pain for him. So I will go before the water cools and know that I will be singing your praises to any and all that will listen to me!!! eternally grateful Debby
