Guest guest
Hi, don't know where to begin...! I'm the only child of a 63 yr old mom with BPD. Well, some docs say yes, some docs say no (it's depression, bipolar, ADHD, whatever else)... but after reading some of the criterion I say it fits almost perfectly. There is so much baggage that comes along with growing up with someone with this disorder... like I said, I don't know where to start. I guess I am looking for advice, and support, on how to cope. Being the only child, I take the brunt of the outbursts, suicide attempts, etc. esp. since she has pushed away everyone else. I try to be understanding of the illness... but it's SOOOO hard some days. Look forward to getting to know you all.
Guest guest
Welcome ~ I hope you find some encouraging experiences within this chat group. It is important to look for the similarities vs. the differences. A number of people in this group have valuable experiences to share. They're making personal progress in spite of their parents' problems. I hope you never feel alone. We are all here to encourage one another and find solutions to a very complicated problem. May you find joy in this new journey as you have friends who've been where you are. No one can do this alone! Hugs, Dolly > > Hi, don't know where to begin...! Guest guest
I dont know if your nada is like mine, but mine can seem so normal when she wants to, like out in public...and so utterly insane at home behind closed doors...which makes it really hard to try and convince anyone who doesnt live in the house that something is wrong with her !! Guest guest
Welcome!! Just repeat after me: It's not me. It's not me. It's not me. Have you had the chance to read any of the borderline books? This group has a lot of great recommendations, and there are som excellent resources available to you. So glad you're here!! Blessings, Karla > > Hi, don't know where to begin...!
