Guest guest
Omg! There is always so much going on. ABA, Speech, OT, playdates, sports class. I think just pretty much the "normal" life of a 4 year old typical kid but then with all the therapies added to it. Whenever we don't have therapies, play dates , etc, we just bring him to the park, indoor play ground , etc. Just trying to have him have as much social opportunities as possible. Just curious what people are doing for their diagnosed child after school? Tutor, School district run after school, ABA appointments, sitter in the home, day care? Thanks in advance. Guest guest
Thanks !!! Was the afterschool something you had to fight for or was the school prepared and capable ESE wise? > > > > Subject: OT:What do people do for after school > To: mb12 valtrex > Date: Wednesday, August 25, 2010, 7:10 PM > > > Â > > > > Just curious what people are doing for their diagnosed child after school? Guest guest
fortunately no... they agreed to take him. I found out later from one of the staff that they don't often take ASD kids so I guess my son had to prove himself (behavior wise). He even goes to the kidscare summer program. We are very fortunate I think. Subject: Re: OT:What do people do for after schoolTo: mb12 valtrex Date: Wednesday, August 25, 2010, 7:36 PM Thanks !!! Guest guest
We have struggled for the last few years to find suitable daycare for our 7y/o son after school since there is a gap between school ending and when we get off work. He's been kicked out of the only two daycare centers near us. Thankfully a neighbor friend was able to watch him last year but this year could no longer do it. I ended up contacting my county family services center and they were very quick to help me find someone who was willing to take my son (and his older brother). So far so good but he's only been there for two weeks....keeping our fingers crossed it continues to work out! Guest guest
We have dance classes and karate classes some nights. They are in school from 7:30/8 to 3:15/3:45 and are only 4 and 5.... they are pretty wiped out by 4pm, and they play together, eat and we get ready for bed! --- ToniTo: mb12 valtrex Sent: Wed, August 25, 2010 7:17:03 PMSubject: Re: OT:What do people do for after school Our Monday through Friday after schoolschedule: my son's is the after school kidscare program run by his school 3 afternoons/week. Guest guest
That sounds like us, speech/feeding therapy, OT, hippotherapy after school, then swim lessons and ABA on the weekends. Omg! Guest guest
My son just turned 4 and goes to preschool for 2 1/2 hrs. a day and than he has in home ABA for 2 hours a day.I am going to leave him at school a little longer soon so he can receive OT an hopefully more speech. Right now he has so many referrals to see other specialist that I want to take care of those first than keep him in school longer when those are over with. My husband works while I stay at home an take care of the kids so thankfully I don't have to worry about working right now...
