Guest guest Posted December 13, 2000 Report Share Posted December 13, 2000 My younger daughter got the Phonak Claros about 2 months ago and so far we're very pleased. She's never worn an FM before but we will probably start with one in January which is the date we were given for availability of a microlink boot for these aids. She has moderate to moderate/severe loss and is mainstreamed in regular Kindergarten with pull out for speech therapy 4x a week. These aids are a huge improvement over the analogs she was wearing and our insurance even covered the whole price ($6000). We were told they would not be covered and I was planning to appeal once our trial period was over but before that could happen, they paid for them in full. (We don't know why and we're afraid to ask! lol!!) has shown vast improvement with these aids - speech is clearer and she SINGS all the time which is something she never did before. My older daughter is due for her hearing tests in January and we plan to discuss upgrading her to digitals at that time.
