Guest guest
Margy, I think what they meant is that Dylan's head did not grow much at all. It was measurable. If it grew, it was less that 1/8 of an inch because that's the smallest measurement mark on the tape. The orthotist said that all growth would be concentrated in the flat area. In Dylan's case, his head is flatter on the back right side. My sister has an 8 month old boy and his head is in the 5th percentile for growth. They've done some reading on microcephaly but he hasn't been formally diagnosed. Is microcephaly diagnosed based on the size and/or rate of growth? My sister has been very concerned about it but the doctors are worried about it. Are there any long-term effects (developmentally, etc)? I would love to share some info with her on that. She trusts her doctor, but as we ALL know, they're not always right and they can often overlook serious things. Thanks for the response! Beth > I am so sorry to hear that Beth.
