Sammie I wouldnot have thought the Atkins diet was high in iodine unless you were eating ginormous amounts of fish. Don't know about cheese. I am on the induction phase right now and cannot have any cheese. Just protein and salad. Avoiding sugars and starchy carbs is the way to go for a healthy life really. Not just to help us out when we are unwell. Maybe you could ease yourself off the worst of the carbs at this time? Lose the bread would be a good start I am thinking. See how you go? Guest guest
Hi again Sammie Maybe the low carb diet triggered die-off symptoms that stimulated the Grave's antibodies??M Maybe that is a question you could ask on your candida list? That's all I can think of. But you are right, eating low carb and low sugar is so important. I'm working on it. Right now, I'm trying to research more about Candigest Plus and similar items that could help me with the die-off symptoms. I've also joined another group. Let us know if they have any useful opinions on Candigest (which is said NOT to cause any die-off because it DIGESTS the little blighters - hence the name. that other product that I mentioned yesterday, that looks interesting, is available in the U.S. whereas Candigest I think is only available from the U.K. That is said not toc ause die-off either as the blighters are moved out of the system quickly. Mo I think it's interesting that many of us have candida issues. www.NOVACounselling.com
Guest guest
You think you are bad...I don't start my day until 10:30 or 11 am, which is when I take my first dose of Cortef. And I usually don't go to bed until 12:30 or 1 AM and don't fall asleep until 1:30 or 2 AM, so you can see my cortisol rhythm is messed! It is sooooo hard for me to get out of bed before 10 AM, I have to just lie there for about an hour to wake up. Dove Rose > I > didn't know people with adrenal fatigue could get up at 6 am--LOL! Guest guest
That's what I was thinking, too (about changing dosage too much). I was tested with both serum and saliva---blood showed high cortisol, saliva was w/DiagnosTech and put me at Stage 7. My doctor recommended dosing at 5, 5, 5, no night time dose. But, she said to play with it and see what worked for me. She admittedly is not familiar with treating adrenal problems, but is alternative-minded and will prescribe cortisol. My am cortisol was 14 (in range but low), rest of the day was 2. With such a discrepancy I wonder if something was amiss with one (or both) of the tests. This is not as easy as I thought it was going to be. Posted by: " debbie " debbieellison06@... debbieellison06 Hi, playing back and forth with the dosage of HC is not good. For a lot of people 5 mgs. 4 times a day works. This is not for everybody.Have you been tested? You need to know when your high and when you low. Taking HC at times when you don't need it is not a good thing.LOL Debbie

Terrible terrible fatigue, headaches, constipation, feeling horrid, Sounds like your candida was dying off. I am feeling so awful, anyway, at the moment, that I probably would not notice. But your response sounds severe which is why I would suspect candida die-off. Certainly the fatigue and particularly the headache which speaks of toxins don't you think? I had aheadache for 6 weeks on the candida diet. The constipation I think is warned about in the Atkins book. This is simply a response to eat hardly any fibre in the first two weeks. I counter that with lots of magnesium. then 30 days later woke up with Grave's Eye disease, but wasn't diagnoses until month later. I still believe something in that diet triggered it. Imagine, waking up with a disfigured face after committing to a diet so strictly. I feel like I was punished. I don't know anything I am afraid abiut Graves. How did you think the diet triggered this Sammie? Mo www.NOVACounselling.com
