My GP prescribed Promethazine, but I can only take it at night because it makes me horribly sleepy (in fact I have problems getting up the next day.) Is Zofran any better with side effects? Guest guest Posted June 29, 2002 Report Share Posted June 29, 2002 Kathy, Zofran doesn't make me sleepy. You could take it during the day, and go on to do other things as you feel better. If you get it let me know if it works for you. These pills are really expensive, my coverage does take care of that. From what I understand zofran is given to canser patients when they have nausea. Guest guest Posted June 30, 2002 Report Share Posted June 30, 2002 Here is my testimonial about Zofran. When I had my UAE, I had a lot of nausea from the Morphine. I don't recall what they gave me at first for nausea, but it didn't work. I remembered that the nurse in the room with me during my UAE told me to ask for zofran if I became nauseated once I got to my " room " .
