Re: Is this plagio?

Hi there

It is best to get an opinion from a specialist, but for what it's

worth, it doens't sound like your daughter has plagio to me- the

main characteristic would be a flat spot on the back of the head-

that's why the cheek would be protruding.

It does sound like you should go for that appointment. Children are

not perfectly syymetrical, nor are adults, but it is certainly worth

checking this out if it doesn't seem normal to you.

Hope that helps

Hi and welcome to the group. How old is your daughter? Can you

post pictures of your concern? To really assess for flat spots on

her head, it helps to hold her in front of the mirror and make sure

any hair is really wet down. A cheek protruding would be caused by

that side of the face being pushed forward, so you'd see a

corresponding flatness on that side I would think. I wouldn't hurt

to get the opinion of a craniofacial specialist if you're concerned

though.

Hello and welcome to the group.

It is possible that the facial asymmetry you are seeing - one cheek

smaller than the other is caused by the torticollis - usually the

smaller or flatter cheek is on the same side of the tort. But

because tort can cause plagio it is a good idea to have her seen by a

specialist.

Good luck with your appointment.
