Welcome,

I'm Gena, at my heaviest Oct 2000 I was 284, so far I am 205. Joining

here was a great start! I suggest going back and reading older posts.

Lots of great info.

About snacking:

It takes a change in attitude. Ask yourself why am I eating? Am I

hungry? How much have I had today? Do I need this?

Try this next time:

Brush your teeth

Drink a glass of water

Find something busy to do- some cleaning, a walk, come here and read

and post, something, anything to get your mind off the food for at

least 10 minutes.

If you still want the food, go ahead but only dish up a portion, sit

down and eat it like a meal. Take small bites, chew slowly. You get

more satisfaction out of your food and do not eat as much when you eat

slower.

The other things are not having temptations around. I love candy,

cookies, donuts, ect so I just try not to have them in my house. have

healthy snacks like fruit and veggies and low fat dip. It is changing

your mindset. Don't just think about it as weight loss. Think about

feeling better, living longer, being healthy. I don't even want the

same things as much because I want to lose weight and be healthier.

I look forward to getting to know you more. I am pretty computer

illiterate so have never gotten into the games. Sounds fun though. What

is euchre?
