Hey ,

You know, I ran into a mom in Grapevine about a month ago. Her son

was in a STARband and she said that they go to some place in Garland.

I, too, went to the Orthoamerica site and got nowhere. We were too

busy talking about the babies that I really didn't think to find out

exactly where she got it. I had never seen a STARband baby before.

All of the banded babies I have seen in DFW area have been DOCband

babies. Sorry I could not be more help.

My daughter was written a rx for a STARBand and sent to Hanger, Inc.

in Garland. THANKFULLY, it didn't work out because of 2 ill fitting

things and we were able to get a rx for a DOCBand. She rec'd

treatment from CTI in Dallas.

It's not that there isn't anything else out there here in Texas,

it's just that the other options beside CTI, are not experienced

educated in treating plagio.

My SIL is a ped nurse and they refer ALL of their patients to Cooks

in Ft. Worth. Ft. Worth Cranialfacial Spec. send their patients to

CTI in Dallas. Also, Waco sends theirs babies to CTI as well.

, I'm glad you asked that question! It's nice to see you

thinking of others. HTH

Hi,

I haven't posted here before, but have been following a lot of the

messages. My daughter was banded with a STARBand on 6/22/04. We

live in Midland, TX. I received a prescription from my ped for a

StarBAND. He said that previously, all plagio babies from our area

had been sent to CTI in Dallas, but that recently a well experienced

ortho had opened an office in our area and now his practice had been

sending them to this orthotist. His name is Mike with

Orthotics. We have been very pleased with all of our work with him

so far. He seems very knowledgeable about plagio and very familiar

with the STARBand. I've been meaning to add him to the database and

I will try to this afternoon. So, for those in West TX, he is

definitely an option. So far, my daughter (Emma) has adjusted very

well and seems to have a great fit, which from what I've been reading

is the key!
