Guest guest
According to his ortho he has maybe another month left in his band. Not because he's growing out of it, but because his correction is so good. She mentioned if we felt uncomfortable about his early graduation we could have him in it for two more months just to be on the safe side. We'll make the decision when four weeks are up I suppose. After his horrible steps fall though I think I might opt to have him in it longer. It's sure has helped his little noggin on all of his trying-to-walk escapades too. We both agreed that if he had hair you wouldn't be able to tell something was wrong (anybody trained to see plagio would notice, however). I've noticed in the past week his tips or points have really softened. You really hardly can see the width anymore. He's grown in the middle too again. I'm hoping next month the tip will catch up and fill out. That's really wear he needs the most correction. I remembered to ask her a few questions. I wondered why passive helmets existed because active ones speed up the whole process. She said she didn't really have an answer for it, but thought that it was a local issue. They are only around because there isn't anything else offered in some areas. I guess it takes alot more training. This is all conjecturing by the way so this remains unanswered for the time being. I also asked what the time limit for banding brachy babies was. She said they have success up to 24 months. So that about wraps everything up. Guest guest
Crista: I'm so happy to hear how well he's doing! He'll be done in no time. I had a similar stair crashing with my Abby when she was 10 mos old...it was in between her 2 bands, so unfortunately, she was not wearing hers, ugh, she crashed down to our basement vinyl floor from about 10 steps. She was no worse for the wear but mommy sure was! But trust me, there will be many many many more booboos to come. Guest guest
Crista, That is excellent news, thanks for sharing it with us. Isn't it amazing how these bands work? I too think I'd opt to keep him in as as long as there is life left in the band. Let us know what you decide to do. > > According to his ortho he has maybe another month left in his band. > Not because he's growing out of it, but because his correction is so > good. Guest guest
I am so filled with joy for you and ! Thank you for sharing that info. Colin's STARband seems a little loose (which I guess is better than tight) so I feel as though he is in " passive " mode right now. Perhaps in another week or so it'll tighten a bit ??? Did 's DOCband have some give to it in the first week? LOL on him wearing it until he's a teenager! Sue Colin F.
