Guest guest
Maybe it stirs up/worsens candida issues since sugar/carbs disrupts cortisol function. A few of us have been talking about this lately. But I don't have any pain in my abdomen. SAMMIE wrote: Hi all, I'm having a lot of pain, sometimes dull, sometimes sharp, in my lower right side abdomen. It's too far low to be the appendix. Someone mentioned today to me that long term steroid use can cause good bacteria to die off in the large intestine and can cause inflammation, sensitivity to certain foods, and pain, even infection if not taken care of. Does anyone else know if this is true?? I've been having pain there for about 2.5 months, slowly but steadily getting worse. When I eat certain protein foods now, I have a LOT of pain there and get short of breath and feel weak all over. Has my long term use of HC ruined my good bacteria or whatever in there?? I've been on 17.5 mg. of HC for 9 months now - was planning to start weaning next week to see if my adrenals can take up the slack now. Am going to the Dr. tomorrow and will request an x-ray of the area to see what we can see from that. I had my right ovary taken out in February and sometimes from the poking feeling I get that hurts I wonder if some instrument was left in there LOL! An x-ray will tell that for sure - need to make sure that's not it. Anyway, does anyone know anything about long term steroid use and intestinal problems? Guest guest
the amount of HC you are taking si not going to hurt you. I took 20 MG for 10 months and 30 MG for another 10 months and it did not cause any superinfecitons. The doses they are speaking of are more like 60MG daily. Or higher which are given to control asthma or arthritis inflammation. not the tiny dose we take. It COULD be adrenal pain from too low a dose of HC. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
Ok thanks . I feel much less worried now. We'll see what the x-rays show tomorrow. Did u ever wean off your HC successfully? I remember a few months back you tried but your adrenals weren't quite ready yet. How are you doing on that? > > the amount of HC you are taking si not going to hurt you. Guest guest
Hi Sammie, how do you find out if you have candida issues? Would I have that since I don't eat sugar? Well, I don't eat candy or soda or sweets. Some things have a bit of sugar in them naturally like tomato sauce or whatever though. So it's a tiny amount of sugar in any case. > Hi all, > > I'm having a lot of pain, sometimes dull, sometimes sharp, in my > lower right side abdomen. Guest guest
I have weaned down to 20MG a day and holding there as I am on all T3 meds. I did nto want to go off HC while I tried this treatment protocol. It would likely be too much for newly healed afdrenals if I did wiht the med swapping I have done in the last 2 months ! -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
Hi , I'm not sure if these is accurate testing for it, but certain food allergies tests may somewhat confirm it. I'm allergic to wheat, yeast, as well as 20 other foods. Usually if you start a low carb diet and get severe withdrawl symptoms (headache, fatigue, dizziness) that gets better when you eat sugars, usually this is pretty much proof. It sounds like your diet isn't high in sugar/carbs, so maybe it is related to your ovary......Anyways, I'm glad you are going in for an x-ray! Guest guest
Yeah no kidding! How's the T3 therapy coming along? I haven't ventured into it yet until I know my adrenals are healed. Always coming up a bit low on T3 when tested though so I suppose that's next on the plate to get going on. > > I have weaned down to 20MG a day and holding there as I am on all T3 > meds. Guest guest
I have been up and down on HC with T3 and since I have increased my T3 a bit, I have not needed HC for 2 days, none! - Re: Intestinal Problems From Long Term HC Use? Guest guest
Sometimes after a surgery, adhesions can develop and could cause the kind of pain you are talking about. But if it is only certain protein foods that cause the pain, then I would think more about a reaction to that food. -- > > Hi all, > > I'm having a lot of pain, sometimes dull, sometimes sharp, in my > lower right side abdomen. Guest guest
>>Yeah no kidding! How's the T3 therapy coming along?<< It is rough and bumpy! Some really good improvements especially in the glucose but some real muscle weakness that I certainly was not expecting, but what is happening is I actually went hyper and now an reducing the Cytomel as it seems suddenly I need less. Which is exactly what is supposed to happen, btu I sure wish it would level out somewhere sooN! -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
