Just curious as to what changes you all are making and why?? Thanks for any info! ------ Hi - I *think* that your son's Music hearing aids are probably a newer model than Tom's. He's had his for 3 years and for the most part, we've been pleased, although we'd like to find an aid that gets him more gain in the higher frequencies. Tommy's Music hearing aids are programmable aids, but are not digital. I'm sure in the two years since Tom got his aids and your guy got his there have been changes. And of course, every kid is different and their loss is different. Tommy has a severe loss overall, but it starts at a moderate loss in the lower frequencies and moves down to severe/profound in the higher frequencies. My little son, Sam, has a profound loss and is 95 db pretty much across the board. Sam has Phonak Novo Fortes - they've done a great job for him. Very different boys (boy, oh boy are they different!), very different losses so they have different aids. Part of the reason too we are shopping is that his aids are starting to wear a bit - we sent one of his aids in for repairs a couple of months ago and they replaced everything (I'm not sure there's anything now original to that particular aid!). But the primary reason is trying to get better gain in higher frequencies. let me know if you need additional information!
